Too Hot to Garden

I've been neglecting my garden because it's just too hot over here, so nasty couch grass is starting to sprout all over. Perhaps in silent rebellion, I nurture these other types of flower in my workroom, which is all nice and cool:There's a green one:

A white one:And one in yellow and blue:
Each one of them says, "I love you."
You can find them in my shop.

Meanwhile, this is what three of the male species melted by the summer sun looked like this Sunday afternoon. That's husband, dog, and husband's best friend on my favorite place for napping.

The flowers are beautiful! The men look like they had the right place in the garden - perhaps if they sit there too long you can plant a few plants around them...

As it pours down with rain over here in New Zealand, I envy your sunshine and the comfy siesta spot on your deck. Your fabric flowers look beautiful - when I made flower brooches in the past I fed a pipe cleaner around the inside edge of the petals before sewing them shut so that they can be bent into nice shapes when assembled.

Hi,

I wanted to write and tell you about a new website for fashion designers, artists, musicians, and filmmakers: www.PutItOn.com. I've been using the site as an artist and have my work there, and am trying to support. Basically, the site allows artists from all over the world to connect, display their portfolios, and sell their work (with no commission taken). The site gives artists a free gigabyte of space to showcase their portfolios, allows you to stream audio and video works, lets you create live personal broadcasts, and translates any writing into ten different languages. If you could take the time to visit the site, and if you like it too, let your readers know about it, and even sign up yourself or link to it on your site it would be greatly appreciated! We are trying to make a go of helping out artists everywhere and are trying to get the word out, so please help us out if you like the site after checking it out!

Thank you!
